The Boeing Global Services organization is seeking a Reliability & Maintainability Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity with the C-17 Fleet Reliability & Analysis Team in Warner Robins, GA. The C-17 platform is a mature airlifter for air forces of the United States and allied countries. This position plays an important role in ensuring that C-17 aircraft continue to be reliable and mission capable. The ideal candidate will perform reliability & maintainability (R&M) Systems Engineering responsibilities in support of our C-17 internal and external Air Force customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review field maintenance and failure data

  • Conduct root cause analysis and high driver analyses

  • Perform component and system level reliability analyses for various aircraft systems such as Engine, APU, Fuel, Hydraulic, Avionics, Flight Controls, Structures

  • Conduct failure analysis and trending analysis and recommend maintenance, operational or process changes to optimize aircraft systems reliability, maintainability and availability

  • Participate in Integrity Program Working Group Meetings, Maintenance Steering Group-3 Meetings, Crisis Management Team Meetings, Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability Meetings, Deficiency Report Review Board Quarterly Meetings

  • Interface with customers and management at major design reviews to provide reliability findings and recommendations

  • Provide inputs to proposals. Review subcontractor’s proposals for reliability program

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or technical field

  • Knowledge of aircraft systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Failure Mode Effects and Criticality analysis (FMECA) and root cause analysis

  • Experience with analyzing field data

  • Experience in SQL Server, MS Access and databases

  • Knowledge of G081/FMxC2 maintenance data

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $97,750 – $132,250
