The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) team is looking for a Process Engineer to join Japan Engineering team. On this role, the Process Engineer will support the standardization and optimization of our Last Mile delivery network to meet safety, customer experience, productivity, quality, and cost goals.

This role involves continuous communication with local functional business owners and technical Engineering teams at both the European and World-Wide level.

This role will be based in Tokyo and involves domestic travel.

Key job responsibilities

• Contribute to network culture of standardization using best practice sharing with European (EU) and Worldwide (WW) counterparts, and incorporate into most up to date design practices

• Responsible for implementation of new equipment designs, process improvements, safety processes, etc. into standard designs

• Develop and improve Amazon Logistics equipment and processes to enhance safety, associate/driver experience, capacity, speed, quality, and cost goals

• Provide process expertise on industrial design including material flow, equipment, packaging profiles and site layout components

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

• 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience

• Business level English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level

• Experience working with Material handling equipment (MHE)

• Business level Japanese
