Background & Purpose of the Job

The Reliability Engineer is part of the Technology & Maintenance organization within the Lipton Tea Factory in Suffolk, VA.Responsibilities include directly leading the central maintenance team consisting of 15 technical professionals responsible for electrical, automation, robotics, and general service for equipment across the factory.Additional responsibilities include coordination of third party services, management of the machine shop, and leading the Sustainability program for the site.Unilever champions a global corporate commitment published as the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) that represents the leadership role Unilever maintains and cultivates for stewardship.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Technology & Maintenance organization includes a Manager, 2 Reliability Engineers, and about 25 technical professionals (subject matter experts across the technical spectrum from automation to mechanical service).This team is directly responsible for central services (storeroom, machine shop, 3rd party service contracts); direct performance of service for electrical systems, automation, robotics, palletizing, blending, & facilities equipment; and plantwide leadership & administration of the preventive maintenance program.This role leads the central maintenance team & influences teams across the factory to deliver weekly & annual maintenance plans, including the PM program, technical skills training & assessment, breakdown investigation, and manage key supplier relationships.Additionally there are responsibilities for leading capital investment projects (typically<$500k) and being a visible champion for the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) improvement program.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

BS in Engineering or other technical or related major.

Minimum 3 years of Technical, Engineering, Industrial, Project Management, or Maintenance Experience

Exposure to continuous improvement projects is strongly preferred.

Previous people leadership experience is strongly desired.
