Actalent Tool And Die Designer in Portland, Oregon

Description:

Actalent is accepting applications for a Tool & Die Designer who will be focusing on designing metal stamping dies and other tooling, using proven Engineering and Tool and Die processes. This individual will provide feedback to cross-functional teams, mentors team members, and supports business objectives. Other job functions may include:

  • Understands and applies LTG Die Design Guidelines.

  • Uses Solidworks CAD software for design work.

  • Generates strip layouts and die plans based on customer drawings.

  • Provides technical input on manufacturability and process requirements.

  • Maintains relationships with cross-functional areas for effective introduction of new dies.

  • Analyzes statistical data to optimize output, quality, and process capability.

  • Generates and updates drawings and BOMs for die modifications.

  • Supports and guides team members.

  • May conduct peer reviews of strip layouts and die designs.

  • Offers support to the Tool & Die Shop and other departments as needed.

  • Provides CAD support to all departments within the organization.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven practical experience supporting tool and die design in a manufacturing setting

  • Strong skills in SolidWorks

  • Understanding of stamping, coining, heavy steel
