Golf Pride® Grips, #1 golf grip brand worldwide, aims to further strengthen our product innovation team, and the global brand, with the assistance of a passionate Project Engineer – Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for North America.

The role will lead R&D activities to generate innovative solutions for Swing and Putter Grip products for the leading brands in the Golf Industry today. The position will leverage the global COE infrastructure that includes design, tooling, material development, process development and testing to achieve product development goals, and collaborate cross functionally to maintain an efficient communication channel for all active programs.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you’ll do:

Lead - Lead North America Original Equipment Manufacturing (NA-OEM) Swing and Putter grip development activities delivering our internal On Time Delivery (OTD) to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) goals.

Speed - Accountable for an increase in speed of NA-OEM product development by leveraging Global Innovation Center resources, standardized procedures, and cross functional knowledge sharing and transparency.

Accountable - Responsible for the timely delivery of Customer Design Freeze and the efficient transfer of project documentation to the plant-based teams.

Risk Mitigation - Lead risk management of all associated NA-OEM programs to effectively identify design/ process/material issues in advance to allow predictable launch timing to meet OTD to SOP metrics.

Program Management - Embrace Eaton Pro-Launch product development disciplines including stage gate reviews for all major milestones. Ensure a clearly defined Product Brief exists for every project.

Change Management - Support Global Engineering Standards for information management, Enovia based change management disciplines. Drive conformance to global standards including documentation standards, product design standards, drawing standards, tooling design standards, material recipe standards, process standards, and testing standards.

Communications - Support global communication practices that accurately and regularly communicate project status and change in priorities, highlight issues and CTQ's to support customers both internal and external. Facilitate the efficient transition of products into manufacturing as Pilot validated designs ensuring products launch on the agreed Start of Production Date.

Finance - Always work within Innovation budget limits. Forecast future budgetary needs and report spending monthly.

Customer Service - Provide technical support to the OEM customer base, building relationships with key external engineering personnel. The main objective is to provide a trusted point of contact between engineering departments to facilitate the expedited delivery of programs that meet specific customer requirements while working within current manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Two or more (2+) years of experience working within an R&D or product development environment.

  • Demonstrated experience working with Tier 1 customers.

  • One or more (1+) years of experience working with compression and injection molding processes, Polymer Science, and data management including internships and co-ops.

  • Currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Pinehurst, NC OR have the ability to relocate within a 50-mile radius of Pinehurst, NC within three (3) months of job offer.

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering experience.

  • Three or more (3+) years’ experience managing multiple (20+) programs at any time.

  • Three or more (3+) years’ experience as either a project engineer (generalist) or depth of experience in Mechanical Design, Material Science and or Systems Engineering.

  • Three or more (3+) years’ experience working for a multi-national company, and the ability to effectively communicate with and support global teams.

  • Working and/or practical knowledge of golf clubs and the interaction between components

Position Criteria:

  • Ability and desire to travel up to 25% domestic with one to two international trips per year.
