Exciting Opportunity for a Logistics Assistant.

As a Logistics Assistant, you will support the day to day operation of shipping, import & export functions of the business. This would suit someone in a junior business administration role with a willingness to learn and play a key part in the team which directly supports our customers & suppliers.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?

  • Act as point of contact for the business on all export/import shipping transactions.

  • Prepare paperwork & arrange shipment & delivery of goods as required in accordance with terms and method of transport.

  • Coordinate and communicate shipment requirements with customers and freight forwarders for internal and external shipments including import, export and domestic.

  • Document approval either consignee or export forwarder.

  • Maintain records and procedures to ensure compliance with import and export Customs regulations, requirements & HTO UK records.

  • Process order amendments relating to changes to shipping arrangement terms and charges and notify the customer.

  • Attend meetings as required to establish shipment flow

  • Provide import/export clearance instructions to freight forwarders.

  • Record logistics process data for performance targets.

  • Oversee/assist Post Room

  • Receipt of details from either forwarder or supplier of import shipment 

  • Ensure goods cleared and delivery into HTO UK & copy of Customs Entry received

  • Motivated and teamwork focused

  • Conscientious with high attention to detail

  • Proactive in engaging others in solving problems Good communication and organisational skills

  • Experience in junior business administration role

  • Confident working with people across different departments

  • Good IT skills, with experience in effectively working with the Microsoft suite of programmes, in particular, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
