ITW Quality Inspector in Paris, Kentucky

Summary:

This position is responsible for the basic product dimensional, visual, and test inspection activity, for auditing the product performance and for maintaining the quality program. Candidates having metallurgical inspection (hardness testing) experience will be preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts dimensional inspection activities during production at ITW CCNA facilities or on supplier provided samples.

  • Completes product quality audits checking dimensions and other features per blueprint and quality document requirements.

  • Conducts daily audit actions per existing audit program guidelines on manufactured and suppler product.

  • Track and document quality checks for assigned product as required.

  • Knowledge and experience in metallurgical inspection (hardness testing).

  • Write test reports and enter data on a computer.

  • Work with other team members and participate in team events and meetings.

  • This position may be assigned other duties as needed to support the plant and to meet customer needs.

  • High School Diploma / GED required; Associate degree would be a plus, with preference given to Manufacturing, QA, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ production experience in a manufacturing environment; Quality and/or Metallurgical experience is preferred.

  • Experience with quality measurement tools such as (Caliper, Micrometer, Digital Indicator and Optical Comparator).

  • Computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), Windows Explorer and Outlook.

  • Verbal communication, writing and math skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to recognize and identify parts and quality issues.

  • Ability to read blueprints and specification sheets and follow instructions.

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and display analytical skills.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within a typical testing laboratory, or manufacturing working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to touch, handle or feel; frequently required to walk, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
