Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Retail Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain or similar field of study or equivalent years of work experience required.

Work Experiences:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience overseeing planning in a multi-channel or multi-store retail environment required

  • 2+ years of people management or leadership experience of up to 10 high performing team members in retail merchandising preferred

Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of full supply chain merchandising lifecycle.

  • Superior interpersonal, written, or oral communication and networking skills that cross departments and influences others to drive results.

  • Proficient in SAS merchandise planning system.

  • Effectively prioritizes workload for self and team in a fast paced, frequently changing environment.

  • Maintain customer’s perspective as a driving force behind business decisions and activities.

  • Analytical, quantitative and technical experience in creation and oversight of reporting tools.

  • Practical experience applying technical acumen and methodologies into expected and unexpected scenarios.

  • Ability to analyze, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts to make effective business decisions.

  • Business acumen to devise a business plan and execute planning strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of Merchandise Planners to enable the business capabilities to have the right product in front of the right customer at the right time.

  • Manage monthly Open-to-Buy and Assortment Line Review process and report out on key metrics such as sales, turns, in-stock, aging and network balance.

  • Achieve sales, profit and inventory related objectives through efficient planning and analysis.

  • Ensure mass transfer requests for stock balancing purposes are executed.

  • Oversee consistent, accurate planning and analysis procedures are utilized throughout the financial and assortment planning process.

  • Partner with Division Merchandise Managers to develop financial plans.

  • Maintain internal control documentation, effectively perform assigned internal controls, remediate internal control exceptions, and respond to internal and external audit requests.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of and follow Academy policies, procedures and safety rules.

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior.

  • Responsibilities may change; Senior Planning Manager may be required to perform other tasks as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Attendance

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
