VAN DRIVER

Independence, Missouri (Kansas City area)

Are you a reliable and responsible individual with a passion for helping others? We are currently seeking a dedicated Van Driver to join our team. As a Van Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of program participants, supplies, and correspondence.

This position drives/maintains company vehicles, documents maintenance and mileage accurately, transports multiple program participants, supplies and correspondence as directed.

Key Job Duties:- Transport clients/consumers: Safely drive and transport program participants to and from assigned programs, strictly adhering to schedules.- Maintain passenger conduct: Ensure a safe and orderly environment within the vehicle, reporting any issues to supervisors or Facility Maintenance personnel promptly.- Deliver mail efficiently: Responsible for completing mail runs within the region and delivering items to the appropriate location.- Ensure vehicle care and maintenance: Keep the van clean, both inside and outside, prohibiting smoking, food, and drinks. Regularly check and maintain adequate fluid levels, and complete routine maintenance logs.- Be prepared for emergencies: Keep a First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, and blankets in the vehicle at all times. Maintain written procedures for handling emergencies within the van.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED and at least 21 years old (required for insurance purposes).

  • Current, valid, Class E Driver license.

  • Acceptable past driving history.

  • If transporting children, the driver will need to have 5 years of background history and a background check from each state (other than MO) will need to be furnished by the employee (or applicant prior to be hired).

    $17-$20 per hour (depending on experience)
