Sierra Hygiene Products Process Improvement Engineer in Frostburg, Maryland

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently, including ability to assess and manage priorities.
  • Lead continued development initiatives that will positively impact customer satisfaction, quality, and performance.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for engineering improvement activities at the facility.
  • Develop and implement strategic, process improvement projects in conjunction with goals and for optimizing cycle time, reducing defect rates, and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Provide plant floor technical support when necessary.
  • Track, report and analyze performance.
  • Collaborate with operations managers to implement solutions.
  • Coach employees in the use and implementation of continuous improvement, quality assurance, and Lean principles.
  • Drive enhancement activities to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
  • Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Review and analyze engineering designs and propose design modifications to achieve reliability and efficiency.
  • Monitor performance of all equipment systems to determine the effectiveness of the Maintenance Strategies. Upgrade preventive, predictive programs as indicated by performance data.
  • Investigate root-cause for repetitive damage and failure rates and investigate costs that do not meet or follow the maintenance plans.
  • Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions.
  • Collaborate with plant scheduling to best utilize equipment, manning, and time.
  • Provide clear work instructions, training, and design systems to promote sustainability of improvements.
  • Mentor team members in the resolution of issues, which adversely affect production, material usage and quality.
  • Establish a mutually supportive and effective interface with production teams, leaders, and support services.
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide products that meet the company quality standards.

Other technical disciplines will be considered with right experience. Strong knowledge of Pulp and Paper industrial processes - 3+ years of experience in continuous improvement activities or troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. - Minimum of two (2) years project management experience
