Job Summary and Qualifications

· Provides clerical and administrative support to the Director of Medical Staff Services and to the Director of Professional Development. For example :

o Tracks, reviews, and follows up on new physician and volunteer applications.

o Files documents in physician and volunteer confidential credentials files.

o Completes other duties as assigned.

· Provides support to Director of Medical Staff Services in all phases of the credentialing process. For example:

o Tracks, reviews, and follows up on reappointments on a monthly basis.

o Coordinates large mailings and blast-faxes

· Provides clerical and administrative support to Director of Professional Development for the Volunteer program. For example :

o Coordinates assignment and training of Volunteers within the facility

o Tracks annual training requirements for Volunteers, Employee Health requirements and documentation.

o Supports and coordinates Volunteer recognition events.

What qualifications you will need:

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

· An understanding of the credentialing process as it pertains to the regulatory requirements of The Joint Commission, CMS and DHS, preferred.

· Able to perform diverse duties with minimal supervision.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office, Internet and ability to learn physician credentialing database.

· Ability to interact well with physicians and physician office staff.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality.

· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

EDUCATION:

· Preferred: Associates in Business Administration

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

N/A

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: A minimum of one (1) year experience in medical staff services in the acute care setting with responsibility for assisting with the credentialing processes.
