Job Title: Grinder Operator

About the Role: As a Grinder Operator, you'll play a vital role in our Compost operation, operating and maintaining tub and horizontal grinders. You'll need technical skills to handle heavy equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to strict safety regulations. This is a 1st or 2nd shift position that demands physical stamina, problem-solving abilities, and effective teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of heavy machinery for efficient and safe task completion.

• Utilize industrial size grinders, with preference for horizontal grinder experience.

• Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and protocols.

• Perform routine maintenance checks and handle grinder-specific maintenance tasks.

• Handle material movement and assist in site preparation.

• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and requirements.

• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid heavy equipment operator's license or certification.

• Proven experience with heavy equipment operation and industrial size grinders.

• Solid understanding of equipment maintenance and safety protocols.

• Ability to work independently and in a team, including after hours.

• strong communication skills and attention to detail.

• Physical fitness for long hours of operation.

Pay Range: $23 - $27 USD per hour

Responsibilities

Operate heavy machinery like excavators, loaders, and cranes for efficient and safe task execution. Specific experience with industrial grinders, preferably horizontal grinders, is required. Adhere strictly to safety guidelines, including PPE usage and pre-operation inspections. Conduct routine maintenance checks, coordinate repairs, and handle grinder-specific maintenance tasks. Handle material movement and site preparation, collaborating with team members to meet project deadlines. Maintain accurate documentation of equipment usage, inspections, and incidents. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, following instructions and reporting concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Additional duties as assigned.
