Verndale UX Lead (Contract) in Boston, Massachusetts

About the UX Design Lead position Verndale is seeking an Experience Design Lead to enhance our dynamic experience design practice.  This role will predominantly focus on UX strategy while incorporating visual design elements to deliver exceptional digital experiences for our diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in user-centric design principles, with a flair for creating visually captivating and emotionally engaging interfaces. This position requires an individual who can seamlessly blend UX and visual design expertise to drive innovation and elevate user interactions across various digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery workshops with clients to surface critical brand, user, and business needs and/or collaborate on design approach 

  • Translate client business requirements, user needs, and technical requirements into prototypes that articulate content hierarchy, ease of use, and basic functionality 

  • Lead end user research in the form of surveys, interviews, and usability testing to ensure that each experience meets the needs of every visitor 

  • Develop experience design systems that can work on multiple devices and within modular CMS platforms 

  • Communicate ideas and concepts clearly, concisely, and persuasively to clients and the internal team 

  • Work closely with Project and Experience Design teams to understand and translate requirements 

  • Maintain current, relevant knowledge of user design trends, standards, and techniques 

  • Develop and maintain design libraries and UX pattern libraries for consistent design 

  • Effectively communicate with developers and other project team members through the implementation phase to realize design vision 

  • Act as a resource and thought partner to colleagues 

    Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, Psychology, Computer Science or other relevant major 

  • 5+ years professional experience in responsive and mobile web design  

  • Experience with prototyping tools such as Axure, Figma, InVision, or Adobe XD 

  • Proficient in Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign 

  • Ability to react well to design direction and feedback from both team and clients 

  • Well organized, responsible and dedicated, with the ability to work on multiple projects and deliver refined digital experiences in a short time
