Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Transportation) in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4457938 THE POSITION Lehigh County is currently in need of a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor, and the Department of Transportation is actively searching for the perfect candidate to fill this important role. As the Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in providing expert guidance and supervision in engineering matters. Your responsibilities will include developing and documenting the District's Constructability and Scheduling programs, with a focus on identifying any constructability issues and finding effective scheduling solutions to enhance construction efficiency. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing project managers, supervisors, and inspectors to ensure that all projects adhere to established agreements. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, the individual will be responsible for developing constructability review plans for various projects by utilizing engineering expertise. This includes selecting team members from construction, maintenance, and design departments, creating meeting and field view schedules, documenting and addressing any issues that arise, resolving conflicts, and ensuring effective communication among project team members and managers.

The primary focus of this position is to ensure that all aspects of the project are thoroughly reviewed and evaluated for constructability, with the goal of identifying and addressing any potential challenges or obstacles before they impact the project timeline or budget. By establishing clear communication channels and facilitating regular project meetings, you will play a key role in ensuring that all team members are informed and aligned on project status and objectives.

Additionally, you will be expected to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills in order to effectively prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during the course of the project. By taking a proactive approach to constructability reviews and communication, you will help to ensure the successful and timely completion of each project.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in (District 5 - Allentown, PA). This position is eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) upon successful completion of probationary period. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or

Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

Special Requirements: T is position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
